Elton-Lee has been involved with the surf industry in same way or another pretty much most of his life. First stepping on a board at the tender age of 10; The Bud pro surf tour at 15; Shaping at the age of 20.
Years on, His focus has moved to the shaping bay, continuously crafting and testing his designs. Elton-lee still surfs but not competitively. When those south-west winds blow along the Durban coast and bring in those clean blue waves, the ocean calls him out for a much needed break.
“I want to make boards for anyone who wants to get into the water and feel the stoke! From the beginner to the ripper.”
What started as mere interest in making kids boards soon changed and developed into something more. With the Birth of his son Tide- Lee (@tideleeireland #thetidelee ), that interest became passion.
“My Son’s abilities inspire me to push my limits and to think beyond what is the norm, he is very animated with his feedback and it fuels me to be open to change. Taking normal performance board specs and squeezing all that info into a Kids board is what it’s all about. Giving the Groms everything in a board to make them stoked and happy, nothing beats that feeling. “
